01 / ACCOUNT REGION

App Store & Account Region

This app is not available on the mainland China storefront. Check the storefront associated with your account rather than relying on search results to determine whether the app is available.

Which account determines your storefront?

The country or region associated with your Apple Account determines which App Store content you can browse and buy. Your device’s location, system language, and account storefront are separate settings. Changing your iPhone’s language to English does not change its storefront. The button on this page links to Shadowrocket on the US App Store; the App Store may still show a region notice based on your account.

To check your region, look at the account signed in under Media & Purchases—not just the name at the top of Settings. Your iCloud account and the account used to buy apps may be different. To check whether you own the app or can download it again, use the account and purchase history associated with the original purchase.

Where to Check or Change Your Region

  1. Open Settings and tap your Apple Account.
  2. Tap Media & Purchases, choose View Account, and authenticate if prompted.
  3. Check Country/Region to see your current storefront. To change it, start from this screen.

Follow the Prompts for Your Account

Account labels and menus may vary slightly by system version; follow what you see on your device. Before changing your region, review Apple’s account requirements. This guide explains where to find the setting but cannot guarantee that your account is eligible for a region change.

Your account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing group, and payment method may affect the process. If Apple asks you to resolve an account issue first, follow the prompt rather than repeatedly changing settings. Once you’ve checked your region, return to the App Store and open the same product page.

If the product page loads but you can’t complete the purchase, identify the specific issue: region availability, payment, or device compatibility. Each has a different solution; searching for the app again usually won’t resolve an account or payment problem.

02 / PRODUCT IDENTITY

Shadowrocket App Verification

Check the developer, official app icon, and app ID together. A similar name or icon does not mean it’s the same app.

Product Details to Check

App Name
Shadowrocket
Developer
Shadow Launch Technology Limited
App ID
932747118

Searching the App Store for Shadowrocket may bring up apps with similar names, colors, or icons. Open the product page and verify the developer is exactly Shadow Launch Technology Limited, then compare the store icon with the official icon above: a blue-purple outlined rocket on white. A similar-looking icon in search results is not enough to confirm the app.

The app ID appears in the product link. Shadowrocket’s is id932747118. Names can be similar, but each app has a different ID. If the developer, icon, or ID does not match, return to the product link on this page and check again. The App Store website and device app may look different; verify the product details, not the page layout.

The two images beside this text are official App Store screenshots. Home shows Not Connected, Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and the SERVER group; Add Server shows server fields and import options. They illustrate the interface, but not every detail will necessarily match what you see after installation. The server list depends on your own configuration; the screenshots’ contents are not added to your device when you buy the app.

Interface details may change as the app and App Store materials are updated, so use the screenshots only as a reference. To verify what you’re buying, rely on the product link, developer name, and official icon—not the precise position of a button.

03 / IPHONE

iPhone Purchase & First Launch

Complete your App Store purchase and install the app before setting up a connection. Check the App Store listing for system requirements.

Check Compatibility Before Buying

Open the product page on the iPhone you plan to use and check the compatibility details and displayed price. If the App Store says your system is incompatible, check for available system updates and review the store requirements. Being able to open the product page on another device does not mean this iPhone can install the app. Browsing the page and installing the app are separate things.

If you haven’t bought the app, tap the price and confirm payment as prompted. If you already own it, the App Store will usually show a redownload option. The App Store handles authentication, payment confirmation, and download progress. When the app shows Open, launch it and go to Home. Until the download finishes, its Home Screen icon may still show a waiting or progress indicator.

If the download takes a long time, check your network connection and available storage, then look for any account verification prompt in the App Store. Follow the specific error message rather than assuming every download issue is caused by app settings; in-app configuration does not affect the store download before installation is complete.

What Is VPN Configuration Permission?

When you first try to connect, the system may ask to let Shadowrocket add a VPN configuration and request device authentication. This allows the app to create a system network configuration. Review the prompt and confirm only after checking that you’re using Shadowrocket. The prompt does not mean you have a working server or that the connection has been tested.

If you cancel the permission request, you can organize your own subscription or server details first, then try connecting again and follow the system prompts. Buying the app gives you access to the client; servers in Home, rules in Config, and connection success all depend on your existing information and need to be checked separately.

After installation, get familiar with Home, Add Server, and Global Routing before importing anything. For steps to enter your existing subscription or server details, see the Quick Start. Change one thing at a time during initial setup to help distinguish issues with fields, routing mode, or connection permissions.

04 / IPAD

iPad Installation & Device Compatibility

A single purchase with the same Apple Account can be installed on compatible iPhone and iPad devices. Check the App Store listing to see whether it’s a universal purchase.

Check the Original Purchase Account

On your iPad, make sure the App Store is signed in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase, then open the product page or your purchase history. If you already own the app, use the store’s redownload option. If a price still appears, don’t confirm another payment yet; first check the account under Media & Purchases and verify the original transaction.

Available storage and screen layout may differ between iPadOS and iPhone, but the interface labels remain the best guide: Home, Config, Add Server, and Settings. Don’t rely only on whether a button appears on the left or right in a tutorial screenshot; confirm the current screen name and the fields you need.

Installing the app on iPad does not automatically transfer your connection configuration to iPhone. Check the server list, active Config, Global Routing, and VPN permission on each device before testing the connection. Check the App Store listing for system requirements.

Other Devices Listed on the Same App Store Page

The App Store product page also lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision under compatibility. If you want to use Shadowrocket on one of these devices, review the compatibility details on the same product page, then check the App Store on that device to see if it’s available.

System requirements, availability, and universal purchase eligibility vary by device; check the App Store listing. A purchase on iPhone does not guarantee that every device or system version meets the requirements. The interface may also differ between devices.

The step-by-step installation and first-time permission instructions on this page focus on iPhone and iPad. For other devices, follow the system and App Store prompts. Verify the app using the same developer name, official icon, and app ID.

05 / PURCHASE HISTORY

Changing Devices & Restoring Purchases

Reinstalling the app and restoring your connection configuration are separate tasks. First retrieve your purchase, then check your own subscriptions, servers, and rules.

Reinstall from Your Purchase History

  1. On your new device, open the App Store, go to your account, and make sure you’re signed in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase.
  2. Find Shadowrocket under Purchased. On some system versions, this option is in the app list.
  3. Verify the product, tap the cloud-shaped redownload button, and wait for installation to finish before opening the app.

You can usually redownload apps purchased with the same account without paying again. If the page shows a price instead of a redownload button, check your purchase history, account region, and signed-in account. Having the same iCloud account at the top of Settings does not by itself confirm that the App Store is using the account that bought the app.

If you can’t find the app in your purchase list, check whether it was hidden and make sure you’re viewing the correct account. Don’t keep tapping the price button to try to restore it. First confirm the transaction and the product it applies to, then decide what to do next.

Check Your Configuration After Reinstalling

After reinstalling the client, import your own subscription or server details and check which configuration file is in use. If your old device had backup or sync enabled, check which items were actually restored. The app icon reappearing does not mean your server list, rules, and connection permissions have all been restored.

Check the servers in Home, the active configuration in Config, your Global Routing selection, and VPN permission on the new device. Verify passwords and other private fields on your own device; don’t post a complete configuration publicly.

To see whether Family Sharing is available to members of your group, check the App Store product page and your account’s eligibility. Family Sharing and redownloading a purchase with the same Apple Account are different processes; Family Sharing does not automatically give every family account the purchase history.

If you can’t connect after reinstalling, distinguish between a successful app restore and valid server details. The store and account determine whether you can restore the app; connection success also depends on your existing details, active configuration, and network. For help, see the connection troubleshooting FAQ.

06 / ONE-TIME PURCHASE

Price & Purchase Terms

The US App Store reference price is $2.99 as a one-time purchase. Other storefronts show local currency; the final price is the one displayed on the App Store product page and payment confirmation screen.

What the Purchase Includes

Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app sold as a one-time purchase, with no monthly app fee. Storefront, local currency, and other display conditions can affect the price. The USD amount here helps explain the purchase model; it may differ from the amount shown at checkout.

After purchasing, use your purchase history to redownload the app with the original account, subject to the App Store’s storefront requirements. Updates are delivered through the App Store. Turn on automatic updates in your device settings or check for updates in the store. See the App Store version history for update details; this page does not list version information that may change.

Payments and refunds are handled according to App Store transaction records and procedures. If a charge, purchase confirmation, or restore fails, first determine whether it’s a store transaction issue or an app connection issue; the two require different checks. Editing a rules file won’t resolve an account payment status.

To configure the app, use your own subscription or server details. Importing a subscription adds existing configuration to the client; it does not change that subscription’s validity period, permissions, or availability. Buying the app does not automatically provide a working connection.

Likewise, choosing Config, Proxy, or Direct under Global Routing changes how requests are routed; it does not add server details. Use settings that match your own information. If no server has been added in Home, import your details first, then follow the guide to test the connection.

For setup instructions, see the Quick Start. If you’re already connected and want to understand settings such as DNS and On Demand, read the Settings Guide. Verify your purchase first, then configure the app step by step to keep account issues separate from setup issues.

Purchase & Installation FAQs

Use the App Store’s actual prompts to distinguish storefront, payment, device compatibility, and in-app configuration issues.

Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?

This app is not available on the mainland China App Store. The country or region associated with your Apple Account determines which storefront you see. Check it under Settings → Apple Account → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region, then open the product link on this page. Whether you can change regions depends on your account and Apple’s requirements.

What if the product page opens but the app won’t download?

Note the exact App Store message, then check your account region, device compatibility, payment status, available storage, and network connection. A price button and a cloud download button indicate different purchase states. If payment is not confirmed, check your purchase history before trying again.

Will I have to pay again when I get a new iPhone?

Sign in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Find Shadowrocket under App Store → Account → Purchased and download it again; you usually won’t need to pay again. If a price appears, check the account used for Media & Purchases and your purchase history. After restoring the app, restore or import your own configuration.

Can I use the same purchase on iPad?

A purchase made with the same Apple Account can be installed on compatible iPhone and iPad devices. Check the App Store listing for universal purchase availability and system requirements. On iPad, verify the purchase in your purchase history, then check your configuration and VPN permission after installation.

Can I install it on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?

The App Store product page lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision under compatibility. Check the product and purchase status in the App Store on your device. Refer to the App Store listing for system requirements and universal purchase availability.

Which screens should I check first if the interface is in English?

Start by identifying Home, Global Routing, Add Server, and Config. Home shows your connection and servers; Global Routing sets the routing mode; Add Server is for entering your existing server details; Config manages configuration files. Use the official screenshots on this page as a reference, and see the Quick Start for next steps.
